The Interfoto Biennale is one of the longest-running and most extensive international photography events in western Romania. Initiated in 2010 by Prof. Dr. Camil Mihăescu and Sergio Morariu, the festival was conceived as a space for professional and cultural exhibition and dialogue. Starting annually and then biennially from 2013, Interfoto has brought together over 2,000 works and international guests from countries such as Germany, France, the USA, and Hungary. The Faculty of Arts and Design at the West University of Timișoara has been the main host, strengthening the event as an educational and cultural landmark in the region.
